Windies Selectors Have A Case To Answer

The exclusion of Kieran Powell from the provisional Windies 30-man squad for the tour of England this summer is one of consternation.

Over the years, some Windies players have felt hard done by Windies selectors, and not including Powell in its current squad is another case in point.

It cannot be that one of the criteria for Windies selection is performance, and when a player puts up the numbers, he or she is sent out to pasture.

The fact is Powell has the experience, skillset, and scores that warrant his selection. And not to have selected him must be viewed as a grave injustice.

This latest move by the selectors must be demotivational and discouraging to players and ought to be stopped.

Performance must be rewarded or dump the performance criterion for selection!
