Lawrence Satisfied With Performance Of ‘Angry’ T&T

Trinidad and Tobago head coach Dennis Lawrence has expressed satisfaction with the team’s response in a 2-0 win over the United Arab Emirates in a friendly international on Thursday, following a difficult start to the tour.

The T&T team was left without a field to train on for several days after arriving in the UAE, a situation that had left the coach infuriated.  The team, however, showed very little effects of that during the encounter with goals from Ataullah Guerra and Nathan Lewis giving T&T a comfortable win.

“I’m really pleased with the boys because everybody knows what we have been through.  I’m looking at the game and I give them full credit.  I’m looking at the game, at the effort they put in, the way that they worked together as a group and they deserved the victory,” Lawrence told TTFA media.

“I thought Ataullla came in and did well.  He took his goal really well and Nathan Lewis was outstanding today.  As a team, they all worked together, and they dug in because they all understood what this game meant for us.  We spoke about everything and we were all angry, just like I was.”
