The Windies has found themselves in a spot of bother on day two of their first Test match against India.
The home team has maintained their dominance throughout the game thus far and has forced the Windies back against the wall after a mammoth score of 649/9 declared.
They have also dug into Windies batting line-up taking six scalps for a paltry total of 96 runs in a mere 29 overs.
Windies top order batters struggled against the spin of Jadeja, Ashwin, and Kuldeep.
Now, with only Roston Chase and the tail-enders remaining one wonders whether Windies can stretch their inning out by putting up a score of 150 on the board. With Holder and Roach out of the team, it does not augur well for the Windies.
However, Windies can’t afford to give up and must play out of their skins for them to have any important take away from this Test.
Meanwhile, India boasts its highest Test total against the Windies with Ravindra Jadeja scoring his maiden Test hundred and captain Virat Kohli also scoring another Test century thus becoming India’s fourth-highest century-maker in Test cricket and moreover, passing 1000 runs in a calendar year for the third successive year.
With a 555 runs deficit, there is no lullaby for the Windies and no doubt they will have nightmares when they go to sleep tonight.
