The global COVID-19 crisis has forced the cancellation of this season’s Paris and Eugene Diamond League meetings.
The organizers also confirmed the postponement of the meeting at Gateshead in England, initially scheduled for August 16.
“Paris’ well-loved Wanda Diamond League meeting will return in August 2021, at a time when it is able once again to mobilize volunteers and welcome international stars,” the release noted.
The event in Eugene, initially scheduled for October 6, was scrapped as the state of Oregon has a ban on gatherings, including sporting events until at least the end of September.
According to the organizers, September 12 is a possible alternative for the Gateshead meeting; however, final confirmation must await UK Government guidelines.
“Due to the ongoing global health situation and ever-changing regulations, the 2020 Wanda Diamond League calendar remains provisional and subject to further changes,” the release further noted.
