COVID-19 Puts Digicel Rising Stars Season On Hold

Digicel Rising Stars season has been placed on hold until next year. This comes against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic that that has taken a toll on the entertainment industry.

The Television Jamaica aired talent show will not stage a competition this year due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Instead, a 16-part docu-series looking back at all 16 seasons will premiere on Sunday night.

Each one-hour mini documentary will focus on each season, including conversations with past winners and standout participants as well as interviews with the judges.

Digicel Rising Stars launched the careers of Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin, Dalton Harris, Laden and Shuga.

The competition will return next year.
